Photography allows me to express what I cannot always put into words. I’m drawn to people — to the lives they carry and the ways they see themselves. Through conversation, I begin to understand how each person imagines themselves within their own life, and I use the photograph to bring that image into form.

In the process of making portraits, I pay close attention to the emotional landscape of each individual. Beyond visual aesthetics, I’m interested in creating images that hold multiple layers — where presence, environment, and personal history come together.

I work primarily with film. The pace of the medium allows me to stay attentive to the person in front of the camera — their presence, their emotions, and the subtle shifts that happen during the session.

I received my MFA in Photography in 2016 and have continued working with film since, expanding my practice through printing and alternative processes.
